Chapter 15

Micah woke to the unaccustomed length of muscle and heat laid out half underneath him. Grady snapped into his mind, the events of last night flooding in. He inhaled, the muted pine scent, another confirmation of who he was with, not that he needed it. Sleepovers were a before activity. The risks had always been too high after, not that there’d been anyone before now who he’d even considered spending the night with.

Grady had rolled to his stomach during the night and he must’ve followed, given his sprawl over Grady’s back, one arm still hugging him close. A subconscious fear of waking alone? Of Grady bolting in the middle of the night?

But he hadn’t. A good sign or simply exhaustion?

The morning light edged in around the blinds to brighten the room, but he resisted moving his head to check the time. He had nowhere to be that morning and Grady hadn’t mentioned anything last night.

He sighed into the luxurious promise the closeness provided. Skin on skin with no rush to an end or scramble to recover. He hadn’t allowed himself to miss this when he’d thought he’d never have it again.

Grady shifted, a soft grunt slipping out. Micah automatically tightened his hold, his arm flexing to bring him closer. But there was no way he could keep Grady there unless he wanted to stay.

And the odds were against him on that, given the baggage they both had. So he’d focus on the moment. The day-by-day process that’d carried them this far.

A low moan purred through the air as Grady arched his back, hips rocking. “Is that a tease or are you going to use it?” Another deliberate roll of ass cheeks over the hard line of Micah’s morning wood left no doubt of what Grady was talking about.

The trademark snark brought a smile to Micah’s lips, and he met Grady’s next dip with a counterthrust. The head of his dick ran a slow track up Grady’s crease until it caught on the end and popped out. Holy…

He ducked his head, eyes closed, senses heightened to capture every touch and glide. A slow burn awakened in his groin to ease outward through his limbs. The night-baked scent of Grady inundated him on every inhale and he savored the unhurried build. The sleepy pace drove each moment deeper, gave him more time to want and wish and imagine what if.

Grady spread his legs wider, hips lifting higher in a clear invitation to move things along. Micah shifted the bit it took to lay fully on Grady’s back, his upper weight braced on his forearms when he wrapped his arms around Grady’s chest. It brought them closer and gave him leverage to set the rhythm.

No orders or pleas were required to receive Grady’s compliance. The subtle relaxing of muscles and gentle sigh said it all. Gave it all.

A rightness tore a groan from Micah’s chest, his heart expanding with every drawn-out breath.

He braced his forehead on Grady’s nape, everything centered on the ride of his dick down and over Grady’s ass.
